The cost was based on the number of pages, so for the book I wrote my husband, which was about 110 pages, I paid about $5. My 220 page book cost about $9, and shipping is anywhere from about $2.25 for media mail to $40 if you want it overnighted. It takes about 3-6 days for them to get your book in the mail. I did my cover art myself, and downloaded it through a photo program on my computer, and it looked exactly as I downloaded it. Basically I was in control of everything. They probably don't even look at any of your book. They are just there to print it exactly as you download it on their site. After you convert your word document to fit their book size, you can look at it, but they will not make any changes to it. Even with all the downloading, it is still VERY easy, and very cheap. Lately they have had alot of volume, so books have been taking longer to print, but I still can't find anything else like it out there. You are welcome to quote me, and I will be happy to answer any other questions that you have.

I’m following up to your request for experiences with lulu.com. I’ve tried the service, and it is just as it says…they even offer Global Distribution which gets you an ISBN, and in the Ingrams catalog. I did upload and purchase one of my own books, which has been approved for inclusion in Writers Edge, I gave it to my wife for our anniversary, total cost with shipping to Canada was $16. The add-on for ISBN is $99.95.
