Changing and Updating your file on The Writer's Edge
We've increased the flexibility of our databases so you can maintain your own changes.
If you are changing or correcting . . .
1. Your address or name in our
Arrival Tracking Log
(This would be limited to new arrivals in the last 60 days.) You can go to the
Tracking choice and follow the menu prompts for
changes. This log is only used by you, not the publishers, and need not be
updated after we have served you.
2. Your information in our Book
Bank Archives
Our book inventory showing accepted
manuscripts going back five years is available for publishers under Book Bank. You will see a form that invites
your last name or your Book Proposal ID number or
click here if you know the Book Proposal ID now. Follow the prompts for
making changes in your book proposal, your address, email, and other
information. This is for writing projects that have passed our screening and
have been reported to the publishers. You can add your personal query content to
the information there. Your information stays in the Book Bank for five years.
3. Your information in our
Manuscript Postings
These are writers'
own descriptions of their available manuscripts. These are not on the screened
list in the Archives. If you have uploaded your information under Postings,
it will be maintained for publisher interest or inspection for at least a year.
You can change your address or description of the project on your own. Go to
Postings and fill in your information for changes.
4. Your
upload for Writer's Voice
This is our newest feature for fiction (and now for nonfiction) writers--a
place for posting samples of your writing. If you have uploaded a chapter or two
of your manuscript and want to change it, you can
upload it again using the same
filename and password. Your new file will overwrite the old one. We will keep
your file on that page for at least six months.
5. The
Monthly Adobe Acrobat files
These are now only available to publishers. They are mailed the last day of
each month. They are identical to the content in Book Bank.
As always, if
you have questions or problems making the changes work, send a message to our
staff at
reports@writersedgeservice.com. Many of our web services are new and still
have some wrinkles to smooth out.
The Writer's Edge Service has committed considerable time and
expense to providing an accurate and technically sophisticated clearing house of
available book projects for the North American religious publisher market. We
side with you in your quest for publication and want every advantage to flow
to you in finding a publisher.
New feature: We now have a
provision to repeat your entry in the monthly paper reports to the publishers.
If you have made changes or feel your book proposal has good reason for a fresh
consideration by the editors, you may wish to re-enter your submission into our
monthly mailing. There is a modest fee and some limitations that are explained
on the Repeat page.
